Simon has a proven track record in civil service, where he has successfully managed billions of dollars in economic development projects, contributing to a more prosperous future and providing opportunities to residents across the state of Michigan.

Simon began his career driving transformational impact in the city of Lansing. He managed economic development projects for the Lansing Economic Development Corporation, stewarding over $500 million of real estate projects and over $100 million of grants and other real estate development programs. His achievements also include securing a nearly $20 million state grant to eliminate longstanding blight and create hundreds of jobs in Lansing.

Simon has years of board governance experience, serving on the Executive Committee and as Finance Chair for the Ingham County Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center. As a board member, he oversees a budget of nearly $40 million, including 13 locations, over 200 staff, and the delivery of quality healthcare services to over 30,000 patients of the community’s most vulnerable populations annually. This includes multiple school-based clinics within the Lansing School District that provide integrated behavioral health to students regardless of their ability to pay.
